In accordance with the "Regulations on the Safety and Protection of Radioisotopes and Ray Devices" (Order No. 449 of the State Council), the classification method for this radiation device is formulated.
The classification principle of radiation devices is based on the extent to which the radiation devices may cause harm to human health and the environment. The radiation devices are classified into Ⅰ, Ⅱ, and Ⅲ from high to low. According to the purpose of use, medical radiation devices and non-medical radiation devices are divided.
(1) Category I is a high-danger ray device, which can cause severe radiation damage, even death, or cause serious impact on the environment;
(2) Type II is a medium-danger ray device, which can cause severe radiation damage to the exposed person in an accident, and large doses of radiation may even cause death;
(3) Category III is a low-danger ray device, which generally does not cause radiation damage to the exposed person in an accident.
